No home light, bathroom lighting needs extra specifications. Lamp with protection from water and humidity, fits really applied here.

Lights are often exposed to splashes of water or high humidity, can lead to danger, tuh. Water, as one of the good conductor of electricity, can cause electrical short-circuit. We often forget this when choosing lighting for the bathroom. Usually we think of was, “The important thing is bright.”

According to Philips Lighting Product Manager, PT Philips Indonesia, Mirsya Budiasih, bathroom requires a special lamp. At least these lamps must withstand high humidity. “Better yet resistant to water splashes,” said Mirsya.

Bathroom, obviously Mirsya, has areas with different levels of humidity. Shower area can be more humid than the area of the sink and toilet. So this area needs a lamp that is more resistant to moisture. Lights we are talking about this, obviously Mirsya, is light overall, including light bulbs, electrical components, and the house lights.

As a sign that the lamp has a resistance to water and humidity, Mirsya said, could be seen whether the lamp has Ingress Protection (IP) or not. IP is the international standard code. Especially for electronic products or relating to electricity, IP can show the product resistance to water and humidity.

Lamps with IP is relatively expensive, but its safety is assured. Then, what about those who are not deep pockets? Careful placement of lights is the answer. Avoid placing lights in areas that are often exposed to water splashes. If necessary, ensure safe enough shade to protect the lamp from water splashes.

Well, turned out to vote and put the lights, to the bathroom too, need special attention, yes.
